Does the 2024 M60 lack anything the 2023 had ... aside from Gremlins? |

If you don’t plan on using CarPlay, Android Auto, or eSIM, then maybe you won’t notice as much. Much like a Windows product, whenever you run into a problem the first troubleshooting method is to reboot iDrive. It’s something you will have to get used to with any iX built before March of this year. Ask any existing owner on this forum how many times they’ve had to do it. I’m probably into the hundreds by now since January, but I rely heavily on eSIM with each drive session because of my online-based radar detector. Rebooting iDrive is the only remedy which I have to do at least once per day, sometimes twice. Because I use all of these technologies simultaneously, it seems to push the head unit to the breaking point. To sum it all up, I almost traded my vehicle in for a 2024 for this reason alone. And I still might if BMW can’t figure out how to resolve my issues. It’s been at the dealer for 15 days now and they can’t seem to figure it out. |

That’s correct. BMW makes production line changes at the beginning of the month regardless of where they are in the model year cycle. There’s probably a month worth of ‘23 vehicles that have the updated head unit which is right around the same time the ‘24s started being built. Just look for the production date on any vehicle that you’re considering. Any 2023 with a March production date or newer will have the updated head unit. All 2024 models will already have it.

Yes... I was giving rough and simple numbers. I think the max is 12% dealer discount off MSRP for a 50, but sometimes an older M60 might go higher, but probably not higher than 14%. Then add the $9,900 to that.

I love my 2023 iX50 so much doing something like this is so tempting. But if I'm going to eat some depreciation I might go to a 2024 M60 in that case so I can rationalize paying a little bit more!

That's a good data point. If you are cross shopping between a 2023 and a 2024 M60 then there's virtually no difference except the upgradable head unit and the Highway Assistant. If the price difference is $10-15K is it really worth it? I would say no. But for an extra $5K I might go for the 2024. Good luck!!

Are you calculating 28% depreciation by comparing original MSRP with trade in value?

I didn't want to assume it was but since that is the case then that is not a good depreciation figure. It is perfectly normal that the trade in is lower than what the used ones actually sell for. The real percentage is probably another 10% lower approx which might be a little on the high end, but not that much more than any other new luxury car I think.

Update. The dealer now tells me the DEMO is "NEW" for purposes of the warranty and BMW Finance lease offers. Does that change anyone's mind? How much of a discount would you want before you took a "New" car with 2400 miles?

If you can get to 25% total discount on a $95K car, your lease payments would be under $700 before taxes. That would be a smokin' hot deal.
