Cigarette lighter power question

I just tried to set up wireless charger setup on our 2017 i3, and I see even with the car turned off, if the usb to cigarette lighter adaptor is connected, the charger light is still on and if I place my phone on it, it still charges. I am assuming this will drain the battery if left on while the car is not being driven. Has anyone used this setup and just kept it plugged up with no issues at all? I tried both cigarette plugs, one under the dash and one under the arm rest.

Thanks for any insight.

I believe the cigarette lighter sockets turn off after a few minutes.

Thank you. I will go back out and check it again. I noticed my wife’s Tesla X does the same thing. I will check her car as well.

Would anyone know if I put like 2A charger into my cigarette lighter socket - will it charge my phone any quicker than if I charge it from a built-in USB socket?
