That sounds way off. An i8 shouldn't be 3-4x vs gtr. Maybe have them recheck their numbers?

I'm paying $900 every 6 months and that includes another car. This is with Geico and I am 29 with a clean record. I would definitely keep looking. The i8 cost a little bit more to insure than the M3!

Glad you found a better deal. But to be honest, car insurance is (a) difficult to compare across countries, and (b) next to you rdriving record, driven by your zip code. So, depending on where you live, you may never get (or you may beat) the quotes people will share with you in this forum. Best approach is to really shop around different insurers.

What also enters into this, and makes comparison across cars difficult, is expected repair costs. The i8, with its carbon-reinforced polymer monocoque is impossible to fix in case of certain types of accidents. It may be more likely to be totalled than other cars that one would expect to be in the same category. That can drive up the premium. |
