Door open and windows

Anyone know why the windows drop an inch or so when the doors are opened? Similar to how frameless doors do but I can't see why.

It's to let air in or out to prevent your ears from popping. I think someone answered a similar question elsewhere.

Side benefit: the door requires less slamming.

My windows do not go all the way down, they stay up about a half inch or so. Any reason for that?

Not enough room inside the door to drop fully

A short in dark but may be it is to warn the driver or passenger that the doors wouldn't close , door ajar . Because when you close the doors properly the windows go all the way up
