I married the one that (almost) got away. Probably going through the worst time of my life. Took a chance, jumped off the cliff, and she caught me.

Much younger than I am, smart, driven, beautiful inside and out. Yeah, I am playing way out of my league, but I'd marry her again tomorrow.

Here we go.

I have 1 solid one that got away and maybe a Halfsie that got away.

First one, I met in HS and she was very fun to hang with, only difference was the age gap. At a young age, I couldn’t handle the age gap we had. Now she’s off somewhere married, good for her.

Halfsie joined the military and I didn’t want anything long distance, so I pushed her away.
She’s Doing ok now. But she was into cars just as much as I am.

I sometimes wonder what could’ve been of both, but let’s look forward.

It's nice to hear that, Scotty. If you don't mind me asking, what is the age gap?

Looking forward is good. I'll ask you the same question I just asked ScottyRyan2019 : What was the age gap of the first one?

Technically, with only 2 guys the correct term for it is "bilateral bone buff" but nobody could expect you to know that.

If the Yahoo email addy isn't in use, you could set up an account with that same addy again. Might work.

Thanks! It was actually very good for me. I come from a conservative background both fiscally and socially. She comes from a very liberal social background and a bit more conservative fiscally. She has brought me much more into the liberal social side of life, and I have swung her a bit more conservative fiscally.

We still have our differences which make for fun conversations.

Side note: As she travels a lot for work (and I mean a lot) this being home for a month or two might strain our relationship. Something we are not use to!

Just my two cents.

Jim, I really appreciate your input and advice. The physical things I remember the most are her hair and amazing scent. She's 5'-8" and did a lot of photo modeling in college. Smart and witty as fuck with the face of an angel.

I will take it under serious advisement. Life is short and one misses every shot not taken.

Thanks, my friend.

Look at this fucking covid19 thing. You could get blindsided by death at any moment. Play it safe. Screw that. Be happy. What's the point of this if we're not happy. To die with our thoughts of what we could have done!? You're already doing it. We will surely regret not taking the best of a life that's presented to us. It's on your mind. Go out and fucking do it.

Unless you're currently happy. Then don't.

I occasionally fantasize about exes but they're exes for a reason.

You may not be 23 anymore but you don't have to act a certain way because you're not. It's all in your head.

My first wife was 10-1/2 years younger than me, but the gap wasn't what caused the strife between us. We came up with lots of other stuff.

Imo the older you get, the less the gap matters. Most ppl are kinda settled to a certain point and be able to compensate the younger mavericks

Sounds good but when your heart is badly broken by that someone special..it really never completely heals..after 55 years I can say that for certain.

I know you mean women, but it's more of a unicorn thing with a man, like myself, that has a clean home, can cook & bake and has a personality.

Yet here I am...

I've been resisting posting this and will probably regret it later, but...

This is one I had and let get away. Long ago ex-wife and yours truly in '84. We had a great thing together and we both worked diligently to screw it all up. We've been exes for decades, but we still email back and forth every now and then. Last fall she did a solo motorcycle trip for two weeks in Australia and when she got back to Sydney, she decided to climb to the very top of Sydney Harbor Bridge, just because it was there. At 60 years old. That's just the way she is.

Our big flaw was a mutual hatred of conflict, which meant we never talked out our issues. We just went into silent running and let the issues fester. Now that we're older and wiser, we often talk about how stupid we were to let the relationship slip away. But we've both moved on and have other lives now, so what's past is past. Still, she's the one that got away.

You are never too young to share experiences, especially the bad ones.
