Considering a Lotus Evora

Anyone here have/had an Evora (S or 400)? I'm thinking about something to complement my F80. I want 2+2 and MT so it's either Evora or 911.

The Evora rear seat are unusable, even more so than on the 911 where they are mostly vestigial already. It's also very hard to find. But you can't beat the exotic factor.

I considered the evora before getting my 2016 981 Cayman S
test drove both and went with the cayman

the porsche flat six is a much more interesting and better sounding engine
the porsche is dependable and reliable
the porsche interior is much nicer

the evora looks and arguably handles better than a 911, but I would go 991.1 GTS rwd if I was in the luxurious position of your current dilemmna

I've done extensive research on an Evora. If you head over to the Lotus forum, you'll see that there are plenty of people who take their kids in the back without a problem. Even up to teenager age.

The nicest thing about an Evora is, you'll never see another one. Since they've been out, I've seen one on the road. One.
Yes, you might see two or so at a car show, but never out and about. Plus, it truly looks like an exotic car out and about. Hardly anyone will know what it is.

The driving experience is stellar as well.

If you want something different - I say go drive one and see for yourself if it's for you. The engine and transmission are typically the most expensive things to maintain in an exotic car. With it being a Toyota, you won't have to worry about that.

Very tempting little go cart.
Fyi: I've seen 20k off sticker.
I think they're overpriced but with a big discount it is tempting.
I saw a pearl green (Lamborghini) one that's now sold. Gorgeous. 3 pedal of course.

My buddy has an NA Evora wrapped in chrome purple. Driven it a few times. Love that car. Has an intake and exhaust and crazy sounding. I will say if you looking used get a 2012 or newer S.

It's a Toyota motor and drivetrain, so not sure where the reliability aspect is coming from other than tic-tac fit and finish stuff.

An exhaust swap will make the car sound amazing, unless you can buy a 400 and that car sounds awesome stock. Drove one for a while when the dealer got a demo.

I test drove a Cayman S, Z4 M when I bought my Exige S. No way those 2 could match the Exige in looks, sounds, performance, feel, handling. The same with the Evora. If you're really a driver, you will not be disappointed whatsoever.

The rear seats are just for a dog so the lack of appreciable rear room back there doesn't faze me.

I do like having a rare car. I've seen exactly two Lotuses in my life. The first was an Evora is that orange colour and I thought "What the hell is that??". I saw another Evora when I happened to be staying at a hotel in Montreal next to the Bell stadium when Justin Bieber was performing. There was a McLaren, Lamborghini and a Lotus parked outside and I have to admit that looks wise the Lotus looked the part in that exclusive company.

The nearest Lotus dealer is 2 hours away so I haven't even sat in one, yet alone driven one. Once the snow clears, I'm going to put in on the agenda.
