It’s built off the 4 series gran coupe right? The M3 is built off the standard 4 series. The gran coupe is 6 inches longer with more room for the rear doors. I for one would not have wanted to pay a premium for bmw designing m3 specific rear doors as someone that actually ordered one

The lack of AWD will hurt 40e sales in the Northeast, especially for those who don't want M50 performance or pricing.

I drove at the Ultimate driving experience the m50 expecting heavy and hard to control and found the opposite. It was surprisingly nimble and decisive in cornering.

It doesn't feel, handle or behave like a 2 ton car at speeds where you keep your license. Ifmyounstart acting like a hooligan then youight feel it. I would say at anything under 9/10 you are never going to think it's a heavy car.

Anyhow, I think this is a solid enough EV effort by BMW. It's much heavier than the Model 3, but I'd venture to bet that nobody buying a Model 3 knows or cares about weight. I hope BMW is able to poach some customers back.

It's actually good to see how great the i4 is despite the huge skepticism and doubt people had - BMW is late, no dedicated platform, dead on arrival. I don't think the i4 could have been any better as the first of its kind for BMW. You really feel like they maximized and did the best they can with this platform and how their business is positioned between ICE transitioning to EV.

BMW have been building electric cars since 2009, full production since 2014, and the first (and only) manufacturer with a dedicated EV platform in carbon fiber. The i4 is a management, engineering, and sales decision, and it works extremely well as such. |

so the EDrive XDrive 40 will be here in November? before all the pending orders for the Edrive40's in backlog? To get it here in November orders would have to be placed and schedule for production , I don't know.... is speculation or you have inside information that the EdriveXdrive40 will be in US in November?
