I think this might be the first range test of the M60.

Highway range at 70mph seems around 330mi (531km) — pretty good imo.

Interesting. There has been some discussion about how the M60 would fare next to a similarly equipped xDrive 50. EPA ratings for base 50 models were upwards of 40 miles greater than the M60, but once optioned out the difference was something like 15 miles.

Since the 50 is #4 overall in the Edmunds range test, blowing far past expectations, nice to see the M60 doing better than expected as well.

One thing I'd note is that they calculate the total range off of 111kw, should be 105. That would make it 315-325 miles range.

EVs use very little energy when stopped (A/C, heat, lights). Constantly on at 2kW (unlikely due to car insulation - and assuming you kept all systems on), even half full the battery would last longer than a day. Yes (powered by the traction battery). Strictly speaking A/C efficiency in a gasoline-powered car and an EV is actually fairly comparable, however, in general a gasoline engine is only about 1/4 as efficient at producing the same power as an EV battery, so the A/C on an ICE vehicle uses up more available mileage in operation, if that makes sense. To be fair though you can make fuel for a diesel at home if you have a supply of used cooking oil, so it's totally a fair comparison. Better range and just as convenient to refuel :

It was on my 35d too. On the other hand, I rarely filled my diesel up from my garage. And it would cost me now about $70 to fill up to that 350 mile level in the diesel from empty. It costs me 5 bucks to fill up the iX. Which I can do every night.
