So here's our answer to OTA from BMW. This is a snip from the email confirming I accepted the ConnectedDrive terms:

ConnectedDrive Services: end date: Mar 30, 2027
Automatic Map Update: end date: Mar 30, 2027
Traffic Camera Information Trial: end date: Jun 30, 2023
BMW TeleService: As long as technically capable
Remote Software Upgrade: As long as technically capable
BMW Drive Recorder: As long as technically capable
Smartphone Integration: As long as technically capable
BMW Assist eCall: As long as technically capable

FYI, this is the same for every iX…. Except for the service dates. As long as technically capable just means it’s indefinite as long BMW is still developing the software... which won’t be forever…

I read "as long as technically capable" to mean as long as the 5G cellular service is still operational, and as long as BMW is still updating I020 ISTEP versions & iDrive 8.0. The first provision of my assumptions is likely the first criteria to come under sunsetting, as BMW is still developing software updates that apply to E39 for example, and thats 20+ years old.

For my purposes, I could care less .... I'll be onto something else well before obsolescence of OTA updates is a thing for the iX, and it will be the next owner's problem

They will stop developing it long before the vehicle is incapable - especially considering all of these have 5G. Hell, they already have 8.5 and 9.0 coming out. It won’t be long before we’re SOL.
