Good luck with that.....lol!

I helped my wife....well attempted to help her trim up the Maine Coon we have. I won't be doing that again.

Cute cat! I had one that looked just like her. She was so small and had an awesome personality. Would catch birds like no other. Would run to my car every day when I got home just so I can pet her. One issue was her gnarly dreadlocks during summer, haha (ohh and the occasional poop getting stuck to her butt hair)

I am looking for a pet. Think I might get a fish to put in a bowl.

I'd love to get a tortoise to just have chilling in the backyard but I am not sure I want to give my great great grandkids the responsibility.

haha, she gets very grumpy, usually takes a couple of sittings, I hold her and my girlfriend does the trimming or vice versa. It's really hard if I'm doing it alone, I also get scared about giving her a cut while doing it.

Thanks She is also small for her age(2.5yrs), 50% of that is all hair. She keeps doing ekekeke at birds outside but I never let her out, just on the balcony, I'm on the 2nd floor but soon moving to first floor and she will be able to explore outside while I'm watching. You are right about summer, she gets a lot of knots and I have to keep trimming her butt hair more regularly throughout the year

Pic of more of my tank. We are finally ready to add more fish again after some illness. We lost about 10 fish due to ick. I have since installed a canister filter.
Always wanted a curved front tank like that. Hard to keep the glass clean? Really like the look there...

As for my fish room...you don't jump into that. You find something to make a process easier, and progress. Only thing you need is willingness to fail and learn from it. Because you will fail.

But...my clowns are over 18 years old...my yellow is 16. I never had freshwater fish that long. So it's got rewards too...

It not hard to clean if you do it by hand. I wait until I am doing a 25% water change and use a sponge mommy. I like the tank because it fits in a corner and does not take up much space. We keep ours in our eat in kitchen where we eat most meals and can enjoy the fish while enjoying food. We have had this tank for about 6 months and it's our first. We have lost 8-9 fish so far but I think we are finally getting the hang of it. We were getting ready to add more before covid. Right now we have two angels, black shark, parrot fish and two silver dollars.

We are planning on getting a 135gal for our dining room in the future. Saltwater fish are so freaking cool, I am just concerned we don't have the room for all the equipment needed to keep it running well. I can live with the work and the failure early on just not sure where I could put it. I am planning on putting the tank on top of the piece of furniture attached. All equipment would have to fit below. Thoughts?

She is beautiful. And she doesn't need a haircut. Looks perfect as is. Course, if she has knots in her fur I can empathize owning 4 long hair cats of my own.

Here is our kitten cookie. No doubt she will have knots in her fur as she gets older.

This is Bimmer. He always wants to know what's going on but is way too hyper to be a shop dog. He's part Border Collie part Meth lab.

Cookie is cute!
If I brush her regularly then she barely gets any knots, usually happens during the summer, it's not too bad though. I usually just clip them with a scissor, easier for her also. In the beginning, I used to take her to PetSmart and she looks super cute with short hair, but they check for all sorts of vaccines and I haven't gotten her rabies shots in a while as she is always inside so can't take her to PetSmart anymore.
Here is a pic with short(er) hair after the last haircut which was a long time back:

Is she a pedigreed cat? She is gorgeous.

Ours are scottish folds and one ragamuffin. These scottish folds have more health problems than normal. Lost 2 of them under the age of 9 to kidney disease. Sometimes I wish we just had normal short hair american tabbies. Healthier and you know you fall in love with them regardless of how they look in the end.

BTW sometimes we need to shave ours as the knots can not be contained. Love how they feel then but they look funny. Here is Goose before and after.

The oddest part is when his fur is really long he isn't that affectionate. Sleeps alone and just comes for attention on a rare occasion. When he is shaved like that we can not get rid of him. Sleeps on top of me every night and purrs all the time. I think he likes being shaved although the process of getting shaved doesn't seem to make him really happy.

That is the right size if I can ever convince the wife unit we need a dog. And they seem to be very sociable. Lots of the people in my community have them and all I have to do is hang around the post office and pet theirs to get my dog fix. LOL.

Well I used to. Now with social distancing I can't.

One of my previous bosses (owner of the business) had a huge saltwater tank in the front lobby of our building. You could see through into his office from the reception area so it was built into the wall.

In his office, he had all the hardware below it in a custom built cabinet.

He never said what he paid for it, but I expect it was a lot. He had it professionally maintained.

It was impressive. Probably measured almost 8ft long and 4ft wide.

Was there any fish in the tank or just the boss and his secretary behind it?

haha, that's interesting, I guess I need to shave her to get her attention Last time she was like that was when I moved to a new place, she slept by me for so many days and once she got comfortable with the place she was gone.

I'm not sure what she is exactly, she was born in Egypt and somehow ended in a humane society over here, she also had a complete white brother, now I sometimes regret not adopting them both, they were 3-4 months old at that time. She is my first cat/pet so I was treading lightly. Her papers from Egypt say she's Persian but she does not look like one, maybe partially.

Also, as you said, it does not matter, you end up loving them regardless of how they look or act. My girlfriend's cat is black short hair and he is so amazing, I love my kitty but he is my favorite, and he loves me more than he loves her, comes running to me every time and sleepy by me every night

Of course there were fish.

But now that you mention it, the place was notorious for inter-office hijinks going on although the owner never participated.

I was single at the time but found out long before that you don't mix work and pleasure. So I kept out of it all.

Hijinks. Hmm. Didn't think that was a real word but is passes spellcheck so I'll allow it.
