My instrument cluster got stuck in Sport mode for awhile

see video. Went shopping and had to stop at a few places. Drove into a parking lot in Sport mode, turned the car off. Realized when I got back in that the car's engine immediately started when I pressed the button and the cluster was in Sport mode (Orange). I could not get it to go away.

After a few more parks and re-starts, I was able to toggle it out, by using the Comfort/Eco pro button. That workaround was not working, previously.

Retired from a software testing background, I was disappointed I could not find a root cause, or figure out how to replicate the bug!!!

Not heard that one before. I had an occurrence where my dash just stayed off but I was able to drive in electric. No stalk controls/indicators worked. Sorted after next startup. I think a lot can be blamed on a weak 12v battery. How old is the i8?

2014 with Original AGM battery. I "assume" that, for a 2014 battery, it is the healthiest a 2014 battery can be, since it is basically on a trickle charger (the EV wall charger) every day it is parked?
