I haven't read the owner's manual to extensively about this but here is what I've observed with my DCT equipped car.

When I move the shifter to the left, it changes the how the trans shifts to an aggressive setting. The trans is kept in lower gears longer and the RPMs are kept higher. All of this is based on what I've experienced with my car.

With the Sport button engaged, this affects how aggressive the throttle is going to be as you press down on the accelerator pedal. I also think the DME runs more boost pressure with the turbos.

Shifter to left and sport plus

in my experience; shifter to left - car hold rpms longer and higher then put in sport+ and the throttle response is much more crispier and sharp.
