Looking for a i3 Lease Deal

I saw in the post below someone leased the I3 for like $54-$100 a month.

Im looking for a good deal on a I3 like that.
Does anyone have a dealership contact for getting a good lease deal like that.

Im in Los Angeles California.
Thanks

I think you would be hard pressed to do that. LA/California, might be different, but more than likely that person got a 2017 (If it was a 2018, I do apologize). Depending on what you're looking at (MSRP, etc). I think you could probably obtain one in the 300s.

But unless you plan on putting a considerable amount down, I don't see 54-100 being possible.

I also recommend you to check LeaseHackr for any sort of help.

As everyone else pointed out, that $54 lease was a mirage. No-one actually leased a car like that, but the story did get i3's some free press. Deals very my model year, state, and the types of credits you qualify for to collect from BMW NA.

A $200+ monthly on BEV is a more realistic target, but again, all depends on what options you pick, where you live, and what credits you can collect.
You can always get a $0.00 / month lease payment by prepaying everything, but that's foolish and a misleading reference point.

I too read this article and thought man I could score a $54 lease payment. I'm still in the market for one but trying to score one for around $200. I have a quick question for you guys that own one. How much do you pay for insurance 6 months vs 1 year?

No lie, insurance on an EV is an outrage.

Can't remember the individual cost for the i3s, but for both cars (X5) in Atlanta with a few discounts, annual is over $4,000. No accidents or tickets on either record.

This car is more to insure than my last car which wax an F32.

Insurance rates vary tremendously, based on dozens of individual parameters, starting with location, history, group discounts (and where they get applied), limits, deductibles, etc, etc.

FWIW, I'm paying, in NJ, $1100/year on the MY'17 BEV i3.
That's a few bucks more than I pay to insure the M3, which makes little sense.

If I still lived in the City, it would be 3x that.
If I still lived in mid-west, it might be 1/2 that.

The Insurance quote we got was not outrageous at all.
We were quoted $908 for 6 months for the I3.
$1800 for the year. Not bad I guess for full coverage.

I priced out adding an i3 with my M2. It was only a $700 a year increase.

A fully loaded i3S (MSRP 60K) is being leased for around $450 if you live in NJ

If you are a BMW employee (Corporate or a Dealer) you may get a base i3 for approximately $120-$150 a month lease

I'm witnessing this first hand right now. A guy rear-ended me at a stoplight. Minor speed, the damage didn't look too bad from outside. bumpers scrapes and one wheel was sideways so the car was undrivable. They found Frame damage. The car has been at Bodyshop / BMW for 2 1/2 months and the bill is up to 28k for repairs thus far.

Wow! and not totaled?

Guess the premiums do make sense. Lesson is to be careful around an i3.

Also, I hope you called a lawyer. That is an instance where I would certainly sue.

you should "sue" only if you have true medical injury that will have a long term effect on your life style

You are not limited to suing for medical injuries and even for those, the injuries are not limited to only those that change your lifestyle. Discomfort is a legitimate effect of an accident.

Diminishes value and any costs that the other person's insurance fights to not cover at that level can also be recovered.

So, yes, sue when your losses are that high. We don't know his entire story, but based on what was shared, I think hiring an attorney is reasonable.

Here's my experience leasing a 2018 BEV (red with tera package, loaded with every option except 20" wheels and REX) from BMW of Dallas:

MSRP incl 950 dest: $54,145
Dealer price: $49,950 (7.75% discount)
Trade-in allowance: $17,500 (reduced tax base, TX 6.25% tax is on sale price minus trade-in)
trade-in load payoff: $17,900
incentives:
-$7500 fed credit
- $2000 BMW Loyalty
- $1000 BMW sweepstakes entry (OL code, get one here: https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/1-000...-dealers/26651)

Couldn't stack on my employer's $500 fleet incentive or $1000 USAA incentive (father is ret air force).

term: 3 years 10k per year
zero down, only 1st month payment due at signing
RV = 58%
MF = 0.00186 (official BMW MF is 0.00166, dealer wouldn't budge on this so effect is $550 extra over 36 months)

Monthly payment to BMW: $440/mnth

Post sale incentives: $2500 from Texas https://www.tceq.texas.gov/airquality/terp/ld.html
$865 from joining BMWCCA for 3 years ($134 cost, $1000 check)

"Effective" monthly rate: $336 month

Insurance (Geico, full coverage, $250/$500 deductible) $1060/yr

Love the car. Installing a 240V 30A outlet in my garage and have ordered a Clipper Creek 24A charger with NEMA 14-30 plug.
Will get 30% of cost of charger and plug/wire/breaker materials ($125) back on fed taxes next year.

Here's the leasehackr calculator:
