Value of 1970 Cutlass?

Curious as to what folks think the value of this 1970 Cutlass is. It's a regular Cutlass, NOT a real 442.
Has a tired Olds 350 in it. No posi rear so one wheel peel bonanza!
Has some rust bubbling under the paint near the door. Underside looks clean. Trunk pan & floor pans seem to be solid.
Does not have working heat or AC, but comes with a complete Vintage Air kit (Not installed)
Disc brakes up front, drum in rear
Power steering, power brakes, manual windows and locks
Does not seem to be loaded with bondo (Magnet sticks to quarter panel)

If you haven’t heard sir allow me to welcome you to the age of it absolutely don’t matter what anyone thinks something is worth because for the first time in history worth has nothing to do with it!!!
If it’s not for sale, it absolutely makes no difference.
But if it’s something your looking to turn into cash, get your note pad out. There’s no need to think or guess. Take your pick, eBay or bring a trailer. I don’t have any bring a trailer experience but I can tell you exactly what to do on eBay. Take the best 24 pictures you can. A handful showing the complete exterior but the rest on UP CLOSE pics of engine compartment, interior and undercarriage. I’m mean detailed pics not no BS doctored up one’s like a ugly person would put on a dating sight. Don’t be scared to show flaws, get detailed pics of them too. In your description tell every single detail you know, even the negative. Do a 7 NOT A 10 day auction. Start it at one single dollar with no reserve! (Don’t let no reserve scare you! You can end the auction up until the last 12 hours) it does more today than it ever would possibly more than it ever will again!

Not very much with the fake 442 and tired everything else. In normal times I would say $5k. It's anybody's guess what someone would pay for it today.

After reading the second answer you received, I beg you to list it on eBay exactly as I suggested with a link to this thread. I’m not remotely an interested cutlass buyer but I’d bid twice ole negative Nellie’s $5000 opinion.

I sold a 1970 El Camino about four years ago in similar condition to this car for just shy of $15k. Cars from that era are going for more than you might think. It's not hard to get real prices on cars that have sold on eBay, so do your homework and you may be surprised. I'd expect that car to be offered at $25-30k

Unfortunately there is a pile of these guys and the cars are going to suffer. I had a buddy in high school - his father had an AMAZING Mopar collection. Original Hemi Roadrunner, factory plum crazy RT 6pack challenger, 69 big block charger with a factory powered moon roof, etc. 20-25 cars all between very nice to mind boggling.

His son, my friend, was also into Mopars as well (of course) and traveled with him to shows and sales and built a decent collection himself, yet nothing like his fathers. But even though what he had was "rare" it was not always "wanted". He would say the same shit. "Everyone always low balling me, I know what I got!"

It's ONLY worth what someone will pay, not what you dreamed up in your head man. I watched him turn down double and even triple what he paid for somethings.

Some of it is still there, rotting away decades later because he does not have the money to keep it all up and time will lose all those pieces that could have been loved, restored, and on the road today being maintained.

Those are truly the worst kind of "Car Guys" on the planet to me. We had words many times on this very subject.

If the owner of this fake 442 is in his 50s-70s years of age he is thinking of the drive in movies where he had his first “experience” with a girl in a car like this. The car pictured and described in this thread is not a rare, collectible or valuable car.

I think that is a cool car. I am sure if you are looking at an Olds, you spend time at classicoldsmobile.com forum. If it’s not a rust belt car, drives down the road and is a nice mostly original car it should go for 15k minimum. It could be worth 20k if it was a nice cruiser. Is it rare? It’s not a W30 or 442 but I can’t think of the last time I saw one on the road short of being at a car show. If I was driving down the road and saw that car next to an M3 which car would my eyes be looking at? For me, not the M3. Classic muscle cars are only going to go up in price.

I’m a member of the 55+ club and your Cutlass looks very much like the “W-31” package that was offered on the Cutlass (W-30 package for 442s).You mentioned “vintage air kit,” as I recall, the original W-31s had twin hood scoops that were functional. I do know the yellow and black paint scheme was very popular. Google “1970 Cutlass W-31 yellow” and you’ll see lots of references. Do your research, you might actually have something rather rare...or maybe not.

Vintage air...feel reasonably certain op was referencing the company, Vintage Air (that produces AC kits for most old cars).

It is oh so painful to read these opinions that some self proclaimed guru’s spout of their guesses based on what they seen on TV and all the magazines they have read. I’d sure be interested to hear what some of the experts that have chimed in on this particular car list as their expert credentials. I’ve bought, sold & bid on cars from 1 thousand to over 1 million and in todays market I wouldn’t try to put a number on it other than the number I personally would pay for it.
