2017 F Type SVR Coupe (pics heavy)

With cars gradually going toward EV, now is a good time add another v-8 into the garage. These vehicles were between $120-$150k when new, but you can now pick up one with less than 20k miles for the low to mid 80s. With 575 hp and AWD, they are quick, and yes, the exhaust is ridiculously loud (especially with model year 17” or early). There are faster cars, and cars that drive better, but this one got the combo of looks and sounds that will make up for any short coming it may have, especially for the price.

There was someone selling a blue convertible here before the pandemic with a very good price in hindsight, I was thinking about it... Oh well.

But does it handle on the road any where near what the Z4MC does? I don't remember ever seeing this car at a track....

What a shame if it can't handle like a god awful looking Z-4. 🤣 People crack me up with all this track and handling talk. 99 percent of people can't drive good enough to take ANY car to the limits. Especially on a public roads. This car did the ring in this time and this one in this time. So!! You ain't coming close to those times even if your life depended on it. The OP bought a car he likes and is happy with. Like normal, someone needs to shit on it with some handling remark. Happy new year 😘

Congrats and gorgeous spec! That red, with the yellow calipers and cross-stitched interior looks fantastic. One of the best Jaguar's in years and the sound from the supercharged V8 is beautiful. Enjoy the new ride!

Congrats, and nice collection of V8s in the garage.

This is probably the only proper Jaguar remaining, especially since the XJ has been gone and wasn't even relevant for many years.

I've wanted a V8 F-Type convertible for a while and of course now when I finally get ready to actually buy one the market is shit so I'll wait till it dies down because clearly these are not worth 80 grand right now.

The exhaust note is obviously glorious

Thanks, stein_325!. It seems that you have an appreciation for a variety of cars and makes from all of your posts here. And I agree that the color combos is hot.

The "regular" f-type R can be had for $40k-$60k.

Put looks aside, here's the rest.
The steering is better on the LC. There's a vagueness on the Jag that could partly be blamed with the AWD set up. The Jag is way faster but the supercharged engine dies out near the top of each gear, where the LC NA set up rewards you at the end of the rev. Two different feels of power, with the LC engine having more similarities to an engine in the e9x.
Build quality is also noticeable better in the Lexus with a solidity to every panels and closing of doors. The sound system is also better in the LC.
Exhaust in the Jag is almost twice as loud with lots and lots of overrun cracks. If I was to be picky though, the tone of the LC is actually more refined, but the Jag is louder without a doubt.
The Jag drives way smaller and feels noticeably lighter that the LC. It also handles better then the LC.
Lastly, the 10 speed in the LC up shifts slightly faster than the 8 speed in the Jag. Down shift speeds are about the same.
In my opinion, the LC is worth its new asking price, whereas the Jag is only worth its used price.

Had a '17S and loved it. Entertaining every time you light it up. You grabbed a winner. Enjoy!

Beautiful spec. I'm considering an older R or SVR Coupe. I've heard their reliability is better than modern Jag's normal fare and they are so much cheaper than an equivalent 911.

No R for me as I want a vert so it would be a V8 S. They used to be around $30k...till this market went stupid. Now I'll wait

Great spec. I have one as well. Love it. With VAP catted downpipes, it sounds absolutely nasty and will put anything with a burble tune to shame.

A tune for the Jag would actually fix that. It'll pull all the way to redline on a 93 tune with over 50hp difference in the last 500rpm compared to stock.

I like both LC and Ftype.
Definitely some of the best of the last V8s.

Long term LC500 should hold up much better though.
