i8 Software Update Anyone??
Hey everyone,
So I am going to tell my dealer next week that I INSIST they do the new update for the i8 & I seen some of you have gotten it & had a few questions. So the main reason I'm updating is the lag in all E mode. That is a serious lag. I never used it before much but started using it on the roads just because I might as well lol & the lag time is super bad. Does this update fix that 100% or a lot? Also I see some of you have said you did the update & terrible things happened lol. How many of you got the update & it was all fine? When I go tell them I want the update is there a update number or something incase they don't know where or what it is? Also how can I tell I for sure have it incase they try to pull a slick one on me & say they updated it when they really didn't lol? Is there like a about screen anywhere that shows your current software number? Thanks for the help!! |

I've had two software updates. After the first one I lost the "blue tint" lighting when the car is unlocked and it slowly begins to light up the interior before a door is opened. Has anyone else noticed that one?
My second update wiped out all my coding and no longer automatically re-sets the trip computer despite checking the box for that to do so.

I have a 10/14 i8, and only one update done 10/15. I don't know which software version it is, but noticed something good about consumption.
I normally drive around town and on highway, split about 30/70. When in town, always using/forcing e-drive, and on highway gasoline. I haven't done any changes to my routes or something else, but consumption has changed a bit. And temperatures have dropped because of winter. Maybe they have upgraded algorithms or something? Before: 6.2 l/100 km and about 4.7 kWh/100 km. Now: 5.7 l/100 km and 6.7 kWh/100 km. Maybe just coincidence? And noticed also that the car uses more/often electricity when driving on highway over 100 km/h and gasoline engine running, and not accelerating. Usually indicates 28-29 km of electricity when leaving home (and car is charged). Before it said 100 % battery charged, and now says 93-95% charged, even when plugged in the hole night, and still indicates 28-29 km of electricity. Not sure what this means? And like the rest of us I'm getting in real life only 20-26 km of electric driving depending on temperature. |
