loud noise from car speakers

Today something strange happened to my i8: a very loud noise started from car speakers. It wouldn't stop unless I lock the car and wait few minutes (I guess when batery is off)
I tried everything including turning the volume down. When I start the car is coming back.

I even recorded a video:

Did anyone experience this issue?

This happens to me, but only for brief periods. I suspect a bad earth, but I'd like to know what it is.

For the record, my speakers are Harman Kardon.

HK too. It went away after I let the car sit for 1 hour in the garage. Because it happened right after a carwash I think some water messed up some grounding. I will take the car to the dealership, hopefully they can figure out.

Well that's good news! Maybe it was just a short from some water.

As far as going to the dealership, I pretty much hate going there, so maybe you're the same way and not too anxious to take it in.

Had this happen in my '18 530e. Called BBW tech support and to a technician who said it might be a bad ground on the amplifier. It stayed on even when I turned off the car and locked it! Really freaked me out and drove straight to the dealer but it shut off about 3 miles before I got there. 3 months later it has not happened since. Weird.
