How to replace the door struts in the BMW i8

I just replaced the door struts (gas pressurized springs) in my BMW i8. I created a video on how to perform this task. The video description has links and part numbers to the parts I used.

Did they wear out or did you just do this for funsies?

They can start to rattle, when open/close door. Mine were replaced last year. For free, at mainenance (service). My i8 is a 2015, so out of warranty last year.

They were wearing out. Door wouldn't open all the way.
