My i8 Has...SuperMan Vision??
Okay so I just wanted to share a couple stories I recently had with the i8 that boggled my mind & blew me away & figured maybe some of you have had this happen before as well & maybe even know how the hell the car is doing this.
Okay so..basically one day I was driving along the freeway when I got a huge warning notice not only on my dash but the center screen as well that read something like "WARNING" "Object In The Road Ahead". So I looked around & didn't see anything at all but it didn't go away. So THEN it changes to be more specific & says "Fallen Trees In The Road" so i go "WTF how would that even be a pre programmed option lol" still seen nothing. Then bam...trees...are in the road ahead. How the heck did this thing know that?! It was WAYYY own the road from where it first told me so there is no way it seen it. So I thought okay maybe its from the navigation like how most navigations can tell you when there is heavy traffic or something by traffic updates but it can now read even things as SPECIFIC as trees in a road?! The next time it did this was basically the same thing but this time it said "vehicle stopped on road ahead" or something like that & what do you know we go past a couple broke down cars with officers helping them WAYYYY down out of the sight of vision. Whatever it is the tech in this car gets a praise man. |

Yes.
The car gives quite a bit of pretty specific data when it comes to traffic problems. I know that the database provides a lot of information from which the sensors can compare to real-world input, but the tree example you just gave is pretty wild!! I would imagine that the information became more specific in from traffic feeds, and the car updated the warning, but that is speculative. My only concern is the next software update in the wings: Synchronized KIT YaCy Nanotechnology External Command Terminus For some reason, it doesn't sit well with me. I can't put my finger on it but something is clearly amiss. Cheers-mk Last edited by MKSixer; 11-30-2015 at 06:49 AM.. Reason: Oops |

I get false "objects in the road" warnings all the time. Bothersome when they're not true.

I have yet to see a warning message in my 11 months of ownership.....odd. I have a 2014 model and maybe the parts bin wasn't filled for that option yet......who knows.
