Need advice on possible lease in So Cal

I received an offer on a $50k msrp 2015 I3 non Rex
Here are the details

15k a year
30 month

$2500 due at signing (I guess I get it back via a rebate)

$361 a month tax included

Is that a pretty good deal or is there more wiggle room? I need to give them an answer soon.

I'm located in so cal, thanks

We just did $47.7K, $2000, after tax $303. So not far off for a pricier vehicle and probably higher taxes.

You are gonna love the car.

First of all - you don't have to give anything to anyone soon!
Time and money are on your side.
Don't let a sales guy hustle you with "you have to accept our offer in X minutes"...

Now onto the specifics of your situation.
Key questions without which you can not determine if the lease deal is any good:
1). What is the agreed upon vehicle selling price?
2). What is the total for all the transaction fees that will be tacked on later (common area of egregious mark-ups)?
3). What is the sales tax, and do you roll it into the lease payment?

Assuming i3 residuals and finance rates have remained the same as what they were 6 months ago, you are looking at a 56% residual for 30 month / 15K lease. MF = .00125.

You should expect to collect at least the following discounts from MSRP:
http://www.bmwusa.com/bmw/special-of...se/2015-BMW-i3
- $7.5K Federal tax credit pass through
- $2.0K 'Buildout' allowance
- $4.5K discount (9% markup over invoice on $50K car). At least. You should be able to negotiate more!
= $50K - $14K = $36K selling price.

With zero down (never put money down on a lease, buy MF discounts instead - research why!), taxes paid upfront (if any are due - varies by state!), this would result in a monthly lease payment of: $350.40

You keep 100% of whatever other government/state rebates and incentives that are applicable at your locale.

Based on the above, the dealer's offer of $361/month with $2.5K down leaves them room for an extra profit of $2.8 on this sale (at least, definitely more than that due to the back-end BMW NA kick-backs).

That's what's called a whale of a deal.
For the dealer.

HTH,
a

Thanks for the advice guys. The car ended up selling but I'm still trying to find another equivalent car and now I have even more knowledge and seek a better deal possibly. FYI the monthly payment I listed included 8% monthly sales tax. I agree that it's better to apply the down toward MSD.

Is this a good deal? MSRP of $47,395 but the monthly payment with tax included is $349 for 10,000 miles with ZERO drive-off (i.e., sign and drive). This is for a 2015 i3 BEV. So my assumption is that I will get the $2,500 credit and the additional $1,000 BMW CCA rebate. Thanks for any input.

SOLD $225/month for $50k i3 BEV

They finally made me an offer I couldn't refuse. 2015 BMW i3 BEV (Giga, 20 inch wheels, Tech & Driving Assist Package, Harmon/Karmon stereo, and Parking Assist Package), $50,495.00 MSRP

1. $3000 drive off

2. $1750 security deposit (refundable).

3. 12,000 miles per year

4. $250/month including taxes, license and registration for 30 months.

In addition I will get the CA White Sticker, $2,500 rebate and $1,000 BMW CCA rebate. So my total monthly including tax is $225 after all rebates:

Since I was getting various private messages, I am going to post the contact person and other information:

Contact: Jason Hwang Internet Sales Director at Center BMW (818-528-1382) and tell him Jose referred you.

$1,000 BMW CCA rebate for 2015 i3 (not 2016) and you must have been a member of CCA for one year prior https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate

p.s. In addition to the $7,500 rebate and the $2,000 build-out, there is also the 2 month BMW Loyalty rebate (so an extra $500--$250 x 2). I didn't now about the Loyalty Rebate until I got to the dealership, so maybe I could have saved an extra $500. Anyway, if Center BMW runs out of i3s, then call Mario (Internet Sales at Santa Monica) since they have a ton of 2015 i3s. For all your other BMW needs, I would recommend Greg Poland at Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA. Good luck.

Final deal

I kept going back and forth between BEV or REX. And after trying different dealers and not being able to get much better of a deal I finally found a deal I was comfortable with (I mean the wife was comfortable with). Thanks for everyone's input and help.

2015 I3 REX

White w/ tera

Parking Assist

Technology + Driving assist

20" rims

Harmon Kardon

$55,345 MSRP

Deal:

$3000 drive off (I get $2500 back in a rebate)

$2800 MSD (I get this back)

= $5800 due at signing

30 months 15k a year

$375 (tax included)

I had trouble finding any white with tera worlds left in so cal.

Kevin. Sorry for the delayed response. I don't come around often. Definitely get it if you can get a deal on a 2016 i3. Make sure you get the $1,000 rebate https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate if you were a member for at least 1 year prior. I got the i3 BEV since it still qualifies for the white sticker. The i3 Rex is maxed out on the green sticker so I'm not sure if they are going to be giving any more of those out. Also I did qualify for the $500 rebate so BMW paid the lease payments for 2 months. Good luck buddy!

With the price of gas plummeting, a new model with 50%+ battery range coming out in July, 2015 and 2016 models sitting in the dealership I would think that the price on the Bev's would tank. What am I missing?
