This thread is pretty much done, but I would just like to bring my take on it. I don't own a BMW and never have. This is my first post on the forum but i'm not new here. I've been reading this forum on a daily basis for about 2 years because like most of you, i'm a car guy. I have an R32, which i find great, but can easily understand if someone else doesn't. to each, his own. On the Vortex R32 forum, the attitude is predominantly like mine. we are passionate about cars, but totally respect people out there. you don't get flaming, it's much more informational.

Here? I'm sorry to say, but it's very elitest and filled with people that are extremely defensive about their cars. Flaming someone on a grammar error? Statements like "Lexus is crap" just comes off as close-minded to anyone that appreciates the aspects of that type of car. Come on. Get over yourself. A lot of people have good questions that receive responses that have nothing to do with what they're asking. Let's face it, the search engine on any forum is very hard to effectively use because there is SO MUCH information and so much crap in many of the posts (i'm a hypocrite as a write, i know). it's a much better forum if the question is just simply answered. If anything, it keeps things more up to date as we all discover more about our cars.

BMW is a great car and the E92 335i is probably my next vehicle. However, the stereotype that's associated with BMW is a major turnoff for me. Several members of this site really illustrate this point quite well.

Again, no agenda here for me. I have tremendous respect for BMW, the automobile. This forum, however, leaves a lot to be desired.

that being said, i think this thread is a major success! we have people making their first posts, we have people breaking out gay smiley faces, we have people sharing their honest, heartfelt opinions.

i would just like to point out that this thread also has the highest view/reply response rate (over 10%!!!!!!!!!) on the first page of this whole area!!!!! do the math!!! the results are in!!!

I actually find the whole "just seach it" response far more annoying than any direct insult. Then again...that's just me.

I find it interesting that people can't just pass by a repeated topic. Instead, they're compelled to take the time to say "search, there's millions of so-and-so already", when they could've easily answered the question given the same time.
