great race for one thats normally is a parade. Great drive by the top 3 guys. Thought Button was done for after that horrible start but the way he can keep pace and not destroy the tires is really amazing. I really thought LH was gonna pull it off again and pass vettel in the last few laps but the RB7 has too much downforce and was way faster in that last turn.

Alonso had an amazing start but just goes to show how far off the pace ferrari really is. The longer the race went, the more it showed. I dont think I remember any driver who lead the race for a bit to get lapped w/ nothing wrong w/ the car and not making any mistakes

Even though that was a disappointing race for a Ferrari fan, it was hands down the most exciting Spanish Grand Prix in the last 10 or 15 years. The last race that was remotely this interesting was back in '00 or '01, when Hakkinen's engine blew up on the last lap.

I've found myself continuing to wonder why Hamilton didn't wait 3 more laps before his last pit of the race and then pop on a pair of Soft tires. He only had like 18 or 16 laps til the end, the softs should have been enough to do 13 laps with plenty of speed to get him past Vettel.

The only thing I can think of is that he just didn't have any sets of soft tires left. But I believe he should have had at least 1.
