Circuit de Catalunya will put into big test and see if DRS and new tires will be helping the actions on the track. As the past few years here we usually see a straight forward race and "not enough" actions.

Especially the last chicane Turns 14 and 15 kills the flow onto the Start/Finish straight. And yes, I've been bitching about this for years!!!

This weekend will be interesting to see where the FIA will place the DRS zone. It will be either the Start/Finish straight or Turns 9 thru 10.
However, the end of start/finish straight does not provide a sharper turn for overtake, but its the longest straight run on the track. Where Turns 9 thru 10 is shorter, but Turn 10 is very sharp and forces drivers to brake very late and in attempt to overtake.

I'm surprised to see so many people hate this track. It really is a challenging circuit. It is no spa, but I wouldn't say it is as bad as old abu dhabi or hungary (or san marino?). Hungary and this one, in fact, are very fun to drive (according to videogames lol).

Either way, 14/15 are like that for safety reasons, they used to be one long, beautiful sweeping turn onto the straight. But hey, it's been 17 years since someone passed away in F1, and we like it like that.

830 m DRS zone?! I know they are concerned about lack of overtaking, but this is plain ridiculous.

but man, whats a crazy DRS zone, I would have thought the straight btwn 9 and 10 made more sense but cant wait to see how it pans out

I would've take the long straight that leads to a sharp corner. force drivers to brake late and hard and fight for the overtake, even with or without DRS...
