I had thought about Macchu Pichu but will probably save that for next time with friends. Tibet looks pretty awesome too. I will look into that. Thank you!

Do you have any dreams/visions of places?
I just imagine it being picturesque, serene and peaceful. There are things to do but at the same time I can just sit back and take it all in.

Smile

It's more a matter of your own attitude, rather than a magic place.

Walden Pond worked for one guy. But here's an underappreciated fact.

"As Thoreau made clear in his book, his cabin was not in wilderness but at the edge of town, about two miles from his family home."

I'm considering Bali right now. It seems really cheap for a nice destination. I was looking into accommodation in Koyasan, Japan and it is expensive. I thought one could stay at a monastery for free for a few days. Rather not spend close to $300 a night on a soul-searching trip.

I got home tonight and Les Stroud is in the Andes, at full moon no less. I totally forgot about 15,000' above sea level though.

One of the places I looked at in Peru was a yoga retreat at the base of the mountain, only about 8000'

You'll just have to stay away from the tourist destinations though. Probably the north coast and the middle of the island is what you want. It's more peaceful there.
