So it is acceptable to say something along the lines of, "chill out, bro". But you don't like, "I was at the bar with my bro, when this group of girls walked in".

Did I get that right? Or do you not like the use of the word bro at all?

Particularly aggravating is the bro used over and over again, e.g.....

cool story bro is acceptable only because it's effectively a meme (or whatever the equivalent would be).... and generally that's poking more fun of the word 'bro'.

but if you use that word in other phrases...then you would certainly drive me up a wall in real life
