PC gamer rant.

So I wanted to take a slight break from work and do a little gaming. I didn't want to deal with anything online I just wanted to do a solo match on Infinite Warfare Zombies. But nooooo..... Because of the dumbing down of gaming to the lowest common denominator requiring PC gamers to deal with the stupidness that is console gaming, I can't even play a solo match.

That's because Activision's stupid online servers are down. And based on their status page has been down for the past 3 hours. This is why PC gamers have complained ad nauseum about the idiotic peer to peer system and the heavy dependence on the software company's servers.

Ok. End rant.

I stopped playing games that require you to be online or force crap onto you. Also if they want to sell a shit game with tonnes of DLCs that should've been free (included) for the price, I won't buy from that developer again. Only way they will stop gouging/screwing gamers is when we vote with our wallets. end rant .. lol

How about a deck of cards? Definitely not encumbered by modern technology

I think you can even get naked zombie pics on the backside now.

Maybe you're remembering PSN going down for almost a month a couple years ago, but Live has been rock solid for me since I can remember. At least I've not had a problem beofre that I can remember.

Up until a few months ago I strictly played XBOX for the last few years. I can remember multiple outages, including the one where they were DDOS'd for 2 days, in just 2016 alone. During these times I couldnt play any games since I had downloaded them and not purchased disks. Even single player RPGs.

I also cannot name one smooth big title launch on XBOX one. Its always 2-4 days after launch til you can play the games online in a stable manner.

Don't support EA. They do that "EA Season pass" bullshit now where on top of buying the game and Xbox live membership, you need to buy the DLC or a season pass to get the latest maps and game types. If you don't then you will eventually be forced out of playing online. EA also has DLC available right on release day for a game.... Like wtf why isn't that just part of the game you are simultaneously releasing?

Very few gaming companies release free expansions. I have not seen games that needed additional purchasing day 1 just additional downloading..

Its not just an EA thing. Its a industry wide problem.

But who is complaining about the awesome DLC that Witcher 3 came with? Just be patient and wait for GOTY version of the games and pickup everything in one shot.

Yeah for single player RPG this is definitely the best strategy. I got Witcher GOTY with all DLC for I think $40 on one of the GOLD deal weekends.

Im meanwhile patient enough to wait for EA's wholesale into their fuqing Origin-app, when some games incl. DLC and season pass come for low prices.

Yeah Witcher 3 DLCs were worth it and the expansions added many hours to the game. That game was amazing! Second only to Skyrim.

This. Along with software that's no longer available to buy outright and where you are forced to pay monthly.

I was just pre-ordering ME:Andromeda and snagged an Origin sub for the hell of it. Love the BF series, so figured it would be worth it.

You're right though. They've got an insane EA sale going on right now.

My son was toying with getting the ME: Andromeda, but in the same vein as this thread, he's heard it's a horrible port to pc. Having been through the nasty Batman: Arkam Knight saga and it taking 6 months for a working pc version, he's gonna wait it out until he's sure it's actually working bug free.

Thats on of the major problems, most games are coded meanwhile primary for the fuqing consoles and for a fistful bucks also for PC. That sux, in older times, the player has to decide which one to buy and that was fine.
Im 100% PC-related and give a sh*t to consoles, they should return to different codings, whats causing more costs but also pleased customers.

I played a few hours of my Early Access trial last night. Blown away. Absolutely love it. People are going batshit all over the Internet, but I'm just not seeing their complaints materialize. Sure, the eyes look a little weird. But the story seems great, the gameplay is fluid, environments are gorgeous, and it's performing bug-free so far (for me, at least).

TL;DR: 10/10 would spend a week strait, sitting in my own filth, playing ME:A to completion.

I got ME:A from cdkeysdotkom from $49 new. I said screw it to the deluxe edition with the petty visual upgrades. However, if that tickles your fancy, they are selling it for $.99.
So you can get the $70 version for $50. For a brand new game that came out yesterday, that's a great deal in my book.
