Seat covers for i8

Does anyone know of any seat covers made for the i8? I can't seem to find anything except ugly generic covers

You can probably buy new skins for the seats from the dealer. They may take a while to get made.

I ordered replacements for a 3 series a couple of years ago. Took months to get and they were identical to the original leather/cloth seats that came new with the car. They weren't cheap but those and new carpet made the interior effectively new.

I had a local installer swap them out.

I8 seats aren't exactly durable, so I understand why you'd want protection.

I have a couple of Australian shepherds so seat covers are high on my list of boring mods...

Really not looking to replace the leather but want to protect it with seat covers. Guess really no solution is out there

You paid for these really nice leather seats and you want to cover them up? My grandmother used to do that with her couch. Let me ring her up...

[sarcasm] Why not just leave the i8 in the garage and drive a Camry? That will protect EVERYTHING! [/sarcasm]

OK, fire away... I'm sure I deserve it... (But you KNOW its true!)

Got to agree here, do you leave the plastic film on your phone screen? My car is almost 3 years old and the seats still look great, I just wipe them over with leather cleaner every so often. That said, I did buy rubber mats for Winter but that was more of an issue about getting the carpets wet.

Your car, enjoy it!

I completely understand the desire to keep something nice NICE!

...but the thought of seat covers in the i8 keeps drawing me back to the 1950's stereotypical vision of "Grandma with the clear plastic slipcovers on a floral patterned couch"!

I know its not fair. Sorry....

I had my seats coated with ceramic pro and have an Australian shepherd puppy that is always in the car with me and the seats still look brand new after 15k miles. Actually the part with the most wear and tear is the left drivers bolster from me getting in and out of the car.

A ceramic coating on a Leather Seat? I'm gonna have to google that...

(I personally have done CQuartz UK 3.0 coatings on all my vehicles...)

EDIT: Looks like CarPro has a Quartz coating for leather as well:

How does the quartz coating change the feel and appearance of the leather?

I couldn't tell any real change in feel i do notice if it gets wet or anything it is very liquid repellent. It is also very easy to clean anything off of the leather. There is so change in appearance at all.

I wonder if the ceramic coating would help with my jeans rubbing off onto my Carum Spice (white) seats?

I have Ceramic Pro on the exterior and interior of my Porsche, swear by it. Stuff is phenomenal. I plan on having it done to my I8 as well. Money well spent.

The training manual states that if you use seat covers the airbag sensors may not work correctly so they said to only use manufacturer recommended covers. For which I don't think they have a recommendation. Plus the seat heat would be affected.
I agree with the "grandmothers couch" comment as it is a shame to cover up the factory cover.
My dad had plastic covers on our Morris Minor 1000 when I was a kid. No seat belts then so would slide in the back seat when on corners.
