So that makes you think you wont get that regen in D mode? I think you are missunderstanding the manual. You should find the part that says the most efficient mode is eco pro + D mode also while you are at it. The regen is always available no matter if you are in B or D mode no question about it. B mode does not unlock any extra regen at all. But its a stupid discussion to have anyway. The car is equipped with "next gen B mode" also known as Adaptive Regen, the guy refuses to use it, and it makes hes video look bad. If you drive your DAP equipped i4 in B mode good for you. There is also people driving around town in sport mode all the time, with one hand on the steering wheel and one on their automatic gearshifter. Whatever suits you i guess.. The amount of energy lost to using B/D is minimal. Totally useless debate. There have been ID.4 owners who have driven in D or B in various conditions and reporting conflicting efficiency results.
Yes... B will regen when not needed on the highway and there is energy loss between regening into the battery and using the electrons again to get back to the same speed but driving 5mph faster for a mile is a major efficiency loss compared to using B over D. |

I just did about 15 DC fast charges in less than 2 days in my e40. No noticeable slowdown in charge rate that I experienced before. This was after software update. I think BMW addressed this.

I've know Bjorn way back when he was testing scooters - he's a good guy who tests and drives the way he wants and not the way others or the manufactures would like.
Don't judge him by this one video, go to his site and look at his other I4 reviews, he praises the I4 as one of the best and most long range EV out there for the money. Regards- Mike |

One is pulling power from braking INTO the battery; the other is pulling power OUT. They are independent. *I have the manual downloaded but haven't read this far yet. So I can't judge if it was considering these two independently or in sum.
