iDrive 8.5 and iDrive 9 announced

Looks like some news is coming out from CES about the release of an Android based iDrive 9 for the X1 and Linux based iDrive 8.5 for the rest of the lineup. Not a lot of information yet but it seems the UI will be tweaked a bit.

We have iDrive 7 in our '22 Alpina B8, and we both prefer it greatly over iDrive 8.

The climate control buttons, especially for seat heating/ventilation and steering wheel heating is so much easier, faster, more efficient and safer whilst driving with iDrive 7 and real buttons and controls. Also, the entire interior of the B8 looks, feels and sounds so much richer and better than our iX.
