Fuel door issue SOLVED - workaround
I was able to remove the operating rod between the electronic actuator servo and the fuel door. My fuel door will never lock again.

Thanks for video Pat, always super helpful! I’ve had this problem for a few months and didn’t want to cut off the loop hole which many recommended on here. Luckily, the problem fixed itself the other day, but I know it’ll be back eventually so it’s good to have this video as a reference.
I also ordered a replacement gas strut for my driver’s door after watching your other video, so you’ve helped with 2 problems on my i8 this month. Keep it up! |

Great vid Pat, well done. I’ve taken the easier option of 15seconds with a hack saw on the fuel door loop. It’s fine but I’m surprised how loose the door is now. I don’t know why, but I had incorrectly assumed that there was some kind of magnetic latch to at least hold the fuel door in the shut position.
Might fly open if I go very fast in reverse.....so will seen how shut it stays. |
