For any of you who are past 55 AARP offers a 8 hour driver safety course (classroom or online), and many insurance companies including State Farm will give you 15% off you car insurance for three years after you complete the course. I took it and with all the cars I have it saved me a decent amount of money.

I had to have a tracker fitted too and it has been a right palaver. The cat6 advanced didn't fit, and they ended up fitting just a cat6. I got the garage to provide it for free as part of the deal.

Pick up the i8 next weekend

Sorted insurance today... turns out I'll get a minor refund as it is actually cheaper than the M6!

Direct Line c£430, no tracker required

Was telling my wife how economical this purchase would be :-)

Good for you! I was the same, less than my Jag. Shame youre gonna get caught by the new road tax regime though, its a big hit on models like the i8

£140 a year plus £310 a year for the first five years, which whilst not a huge amount in the scheme of things still adds nearly £2k to the first 4 years running costs.

How much you paying these days to insure an i8?

The cheapest quote I’ve had is £899 from Nfu
52yrs old with 12yrs ncb, and clean licence for a 2015 I8.

I'm paying half that, aslo with NFU, but as part of a multi car policy and I live out in the sticks and garage the car. Similar age and NCB.

Also similar age with 20+ yrs NCB. Paid £725 just last week for 2018 i8 which included legal cover and NCB protection.

There was one cheaper quote for £500’ish but insurer was insisting on a black box thingy 😂, as if thats going to happen!

I must admit, I can't understand why the policy for my i8 with NFU is basically the same as my Audi S3 and my wifes Abarth 595, makes no sense, but I'm not complaining!!
