He dived between HAM and BOT , which was good . One second later the car lost it completely in the background of the field ?
At the start there was a big power loss of the RB 16 !

From what I read Max shot into the lead in front of HAM then engine died and engine braked him then 3 others hit him trying to win on first lap including Gasly with rose tinted glasses.
