Tell your wife you will help her in and out of the passenger side.

So you'd think, a lost art in more ways than one.

Agree. People forget it's the little, considerate things that reinforce your loved one's love for you ...

I just watched Jay Leno's Garage episode on the R8 V10 plus. That is a very nice car. Really. But then the brand guy said it'll do 205 mph for 35 mins (on a 73 liter tank) and then it needs gas. I've done the math: that's 6.2 mpg. LOL!

I know, wind resistance grows exponentially with speed, but still. Geez...

Well put. In addition, the kind and considerate things we do for others, be it small or large, is what really matters in life. It's the difference between living and just going through the motion.

Speaking of motion, more often than not, I open and close the scissor doors for my wife. However, she prefers getting in and out of the vehicle herself.

Second that. Having spend the past 2 years in an R8, the tech was prehistoric and was one of my main bug bears of what was a truly great car. 2 months into i8 ownership and I have no regrets whatsoever.

With regard the doors, I have had no issues but think I am being overly paranoid. The car is my DD and I often spend time cautiously parking to make sure there is enough room, to find that there is masses of space available. The upshot is, if you could park a normal sport car in a gap, you can easily open the i8 doors.

I am sold on the i-8 but my fiancé is put-off by the attention that the doors bring. The doors? Geez the whole thing screams 'look at me.' For now I am being practical and keeping $ in non-depreciating assets. Well, except for the M3. And the windsurfers, bikes, etc. cheap fun.
