Thumbs up The DALLAS COWBOYS Are "America's Team" Whether You Like it or Not

Yes. We all know that The COWBOYS haven't won Jack shit in over 2 Decades!
Guess what? It simply doesn't matter. They are too popular to fail! Love em or Hate em, it is what it is, as this article demonstrates clearly...

Thumbs up

I will say this... I am much more encouraged by what has happened this off season for this team than I can ever remember! Why you ask?

1. Garrett's pathetic, cornball ass is gone.
2. McCarthy is a proven and winning Coach with a track record of developing HOF QBs.
3. The entire Coaching Staff is revamped.
4. More action and additions in the off season than I can ever remember.
5. Jerry's tone is very different. He realizes that age is not his friend.

All in all... I predict at least a 12-4 season considering the above and their strength of Schedule coming up.

Listen, I just hope there will be a season. This way, you and I can go back and forth once again.

Let’s make watching sports great again.

I think under the right system Andy Dalton can be a B- QB at worst. The Cowboys probably have the best 1-2 QB depth in the league.

There, fixed it for you

Seriously though, Cowboys shouldbe a big improvement over last year. Time will tell.

Curious who Cowboy fans feel about Dak and his demands.

In my books, I’m all about get your money because it could be all over with 1 hit. However, he is nowhere near worth top 5 QB money let alone wanting to be the highest paid player in the league. Take the $31+ million offer and franchise tag, light it up with McCarthy and the rest of the cast and make Jerry pay next year.

The Cowboys came up with that slogan themselves, they weren't voted as such.

I don't want to start a war, but Go Pack Go!

I can't wait for the NFL season!

WRONG!!!!!!!

Quote:
Bob Ryan, now Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films, coined this for the Cowboys while preparing and editing the team’s 1978 season highlight film. He was quoted as saying:

I wanted to come up with a different twist on their team highlight film. I noticed then, and had noticed earlier, that wherever the Cowboys played, you saw people in the stands with Cowboys jerseys and hats and pennants. Plus, they were always the national game on television.

Ryan told the NFL Network for their Top Ten Nicknames show:

I saw all these fans in away stadiums. Hey, they’re the most popular team in the country. How can I use that? Why don’t we call them “America’s Team”?

During the Cowboys’ first game of the 1979 season, a nationally televised game against the St. Louis Cardinals (Dallas won 22-21), the television announcer for CBS introduced the Cowboys as America’s Team and the name stuck.

Dak has worn himself very thin with True Fans and Commentators around here, including myself.
After carefully evaluating his stats and performance since entering the league, here is my $.02.....

Although he's good and durable. And I truly believe he is capable of Elite Status especially under Mike McCarthy... He has NOT earned more than $30M a year! In fact, I would cap him at $25M. I understand the "market dictating" blah, blah. But the fact remains that he has NOT defeated the elite quality Teams of the league. He has certainly looked stellar at against average and lower teams. His last game performance particularly against the Eagles last season confirmed my stance.
Jerry may not say it, but I truly believe Dallas would have drafted Hurts had the Eagles not stupidly and out of spite grabbed him instead of grabbing MUCH needed Receiver help. Oh well, anything they do to to help us is a win in my book.
Dak has also earned over $30M in endorsements! Which is more than the vast majority of Players will ever earn in actual play contracts! That big money would NOT have been possible with any other team. So he needs to appreciate that too.
Another thing to note... He is et to make $31M under the tag this season. If he were to get tagged again next season, Dallas would have to pay him $37M! That is far from chump change! He and his agent are being greedy. But what else is new... As long as we WIN, I really don't give AF who's throwing the ball.
