I wont post any videos as there are loads on the internet/this blog.
You didn't order from Michael from SRZ in the first place ...he figured that out and made a custom set of wires and instructions ( the ones I posted )
It happend to us also then we ordered directly from Maxhaust....

So next time email Michael directly info@srz.ro

So mine stopped working last week, still able to connect to it on the app and my profiles are showing up with my settings, but no sound. Took it back to the shop that installed it and after diagnosing it the active sound module has stopped working. Has anyone had a similar issue? Emailed michael, waiting to hear back.

Hi all

I seem to be having some issues with my Maxhaust that I installed yesterday and I am hoping some of you that have it up and running can help me.

When the car is parked and I switch on the i8, the Maxhaust comes on (the Maxhaust "idle" sound is present). I remember seeing some comments on here saying that the Maxhaust only comes on when the gas/petrol engine is on, but mine kicks in as soon as I start the car in Comfort mode (ie the gas engine hasn't yet started but the car is on and ready to drive). The only way to completely shut off the Maxhaust idle sound is to press the E-drive button.

Question: Is this working correctly? Should I hear the Maxhaust "idle" sound in Comfort mode when the engine has yet kicked in?

Also when I drive the car, the Maxhaust seems to have a fault... the Maxhaust works initially for a while, then goes dead for a while and then comes back on... and then goes dead again and come back again and continues to repeat this problem. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this intermittent issue - the fault seems to occur at random times and the outage can be from 5-20 seconds or longer. I tested this in all modes (sport, comfort and eco-pro) and the problem exists in all modes. I have checked all the wiring by disconnecting and reconnecting them to see if there might be a loose connection, but there doesn't seem to be and the problem is still there.

Question: has anyone else seen this issue, or any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

You can try connecting the wires in the blue plug directly outside the plug

Thanks.

Yes, that may have been the problem. Mihai suggested the same fix.... I believe that it requires a specialist tool for the blue connectors so I have directly connected them now.

I took the car for a short drive yesterday and it seemed to be working fine. I'm away at the moment but will test it further when I am back later in the week.

Had the sound booster uninstalled and sent it to michael for testing. He said that they will replace it if it turns out that the sound booster failed. Will update you guys when I hear more.

So after sending the ecu back to maxhaust and having them test it they are sending me a replacement. I just had to cover the shipping costs. Pretty easy process, Michael was very helpful and took care of everything.

So i get my exhaust mode delivered directly from Maxhaust. Michael from Romania was charging me 1300 EUR, Maxhaust 900 EUR. So i went to buy directly from Maxhaust. Will get it installed today.

I got mine installed. Nice sound but there is nothing to do with Maserati V8 sound. You can tell that is Maserati sound just people who has never heard the Maserati sound. It's more like some small bike. I'm really not sure if it's a bargain to pay extra for that Maserati sound ECU.

Now, if MaxHaust really wanted to take it to the next level.......downloable exhaust sounds would be awesome!
Just read this whole thread, pretty cool. I have a customer that wants me to do this for him. Any updates on more downloadable sounds or other options? THis thread is a little old.

If you go to the Maxhaust web site (www.maxhaust.de), you can click on the product options for Maserati vehicles. (You will note that they DO NOT include any external speaker as they already have one. View another mfr to see the speaker).

Anyway, its my understanding that the kit we are discussing simply includes the OEM Maserati ECU as used by the Maserati vehicles which are listed on the product page. If so, I don't know why that would not be actual "Maserati" sound... None-the-less not the same as sound from the Maserati's WITHOUT the ECU...

Like the Maserati's, the i8 already has the external speaker...

I would be very careful to NOT assume that the sound is anything like some random Maserati...

However, there are several ACTUAL video/sound clips in the links in this forum... Why not listen to them?

I"ve listened to all of them, just would be nice if I could find a clear video like the one above which sound exactly like it does in person. My customer is pretty picky.

That's a stock brand new Maserati that my friend bought off the lot, so no. It's 100% STOCK, and not sure if that exhaust sound is actually fake then? Blows my mind that some are and I never knew it! I think those sounds incredible in person and always wondered why no other car sounded that good.

If this mod sound close to that, then it's a WIN.

I don't think all Maserati's use the Sound ECU. So that clip is of dubious value...
