Question 2015 bmw i8 software upgrade

hello-

Although my car says software update up to date- has anyone actually done a software update on their 2015 i8? Ive read a few places they did a complete different software update for their 2015 and they had better performance and codes went away, etc.- ALmost like our Tesla we have as well, software was up to date but we decided to upgrade to a newer software for it, and although it changed some things physically it runs much better now.

They updated mine today. Some things look different in the dash. Not sure, what else changed.

I did a 3 step sw upgrade 2 years ago, mine was on oe 2014 software.

It's actually worse, much more tendency to fire up the petrol engine if your not gentle on the throttle on cold car.. annoying, dont get it.

There was a long list of improovements supposedly coming with it like better creep and stuff. Barely noticed any improovements. And it was ok before.

Interesting! So if my car says software up to date just leave it be then and don’t worry about an extra upgrade outside of what it says-

Well I sure would like to get my software back to oe, as I drive a lot in cold periods and used to love to zing out of roundabouts on fully electrical power, 50% throttle. Because the car is so light the small power ev motor is quite snappy.

After the upgrade everytime I do this on cold car, it fires up the petrol. does not do that when the car is warm.

Guess bmw added some take care of my battery mods.
So if youre more concerned with the longevity of parts, you should get the update, if not, dont.
