Looking for others to share cool music ranging from Bowie to anything influenced by him and more. Anything cool and somewhat different. Bowie, Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre, spiritualized, Galaxie 500, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, London Suede, The Heartless Bastards etc... I'm looking for bands and or songs that you think are cool that I may have never heard of as I'm always in search of new and old music that I have somehow missed along the way. And I'm thinking/hoping I might enlighten you on some cool sh!t. PM me or let er rip here.

I know Damon Albarn (Blur) is heavily influenced by Bowie.
Maybe listen to the Gorillaz? (although its a totally different genre)

Very familiar with. Actually looking for new music to me, whether it's from the 70's or today. I'm going to change my thread and add a few bands to give a better idea of what I mean. But yes Damon and anything he is associated with will be cool for someone never really hearing his music before. Personally I'm an Oasis guy, flew from USA to Paris twice to see them. So cool~

Oasis is very cool too.

If you're into britpop you could listen to Suede (one of the first britpop bands).
Leadsinger Brett Anderson was also very influenced by Bowie.
All his songs are either about drugs or the mediocreness of the UK society I think
Pretty much Trainspotting in songs avant la lettre

(still this is all 20 year old music though, not so much new bowie influenced stuff.)

Oh btw, blur, oasis, and oh so many others from the good ole British music times do belong to my daily play lists. I admit being way cooler than you all here, (and probably older too) but music ended in the eighties! We don't get good singers like my toy boy Freddie, thr lyrics of these days are crap and what the fuck is up with janis Joplin being still the only female singer worth listening (some talk about some bitch called Adele but she can't be good since she ain't old!).

I really want that jacket. The man is waiting me in my heaven.
