If ne1 is interested in a grey mid-size AT 8500 let me know. It's less than five years old and I'm getting ready to send it off for its first service.

Not related to your watch, but the beer in your avatar is a pretty good beer. Have a 6 pack in my fridge now, lol.

What is the best approach to buy a New Omega Seamster Planet Ocean?
I've been drooling over Omega watches for the past 24 months. Finally, I'm now a lot closer to realizing this dream. I'd like to understand what would some of the watch experts would recommend as the best approach to buy a New Omega. We have an Omega Boutique in Houston but I'm not sure if they will be willing to negotiate on the price. I'd like to stay away from Black Market resellers such as Ashford or Jomashop primarily due to warranty concerns on a high ticket item such as this. Do the local Jewelry shops offer better prices? Are there any online resellers that provide original Omega Warranty? How would you guys approach finding the right balance between a good price and Omega's original warranty and authenticity? Appreciate your feedback in advance .... |

Also, as mentioned above, watchuseek.com and their forum is a great site with members who can help find you an authorized dealer! Good luck getting your hands on a PO!

My favourite Omega is a titanium, tantalum and rose gold model 2296.80.00 Seamaster pro. Just came back from a regular service and the service depot said t was only the second one they'd seen so probably fairly scarce.

My gold-leaf stainless steel Seamaster from the sixties...
I apologize for the poor focusing on the images, (phone camera, too late at night with improper lighting, terrible photographer skills...) As you can tell from the sratches, it is a daily worn piece. I had it restored by Omega almost ten years ago, its time for a new restoration. I find this simple styling of the sixties and the small size so elegant, that it has created a barrier for me against some of the modern models. Some designs just seem too large and too busy to me. |

Nice understated watch! It would look good with a polished or new crystal and cleaned up.
