While originally seen as very promising, especially in the high-beam configuration, this design was ultimately rejected due to concerns of both collateral and environmental damage.

OK,got more info on gen1 vs gen2 and it is not as promising as I was hoping for. The lights are still on-off high beam, not adaptive. No real difference between the two, just evolution in components and assembly...SO nothing like in the 7-series.

Umm, I'm not a "save the earth" liberal, so it doesn't matter to me. Lol. I have no issue with keeping the planet clean, but something I don't worry about is how much fuel it takes to make that beautiful sound of a combustion engine.

They don't. White, black and an awful dark brown are available.
