Heated steering wheel (option 248) was listed as standard equipment for iX50 in the July 2022 ordering guide.

Canada pricing 2023 - IX xDrive50

Hi folks,

I received a contract for a ix 50 model that just became available at my local dealer. It is different from the specs I had submitted in May for my placement, but it is close enough. I was hoping to get B&W but I can live without it as the HK is probably good enough too (based on my HK experience from my X7).

Anyway. the current contract offer reads $93,000 for the MSRP, but on the Canadian website the starting price for the 50 model now shows as $95,849.30. Is this a price increase for future models?

I was still contemplating whether I should insist to wait for a model with B&W, but if it is going to come with yet another price increase I might as well just take what's in front of me now with the $93,000 starting price.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Can someone tell me what is the purpose of the radiating heat package? Is it better to have the heat pump?

Radiant heat is separate from then heat pump. Several surfaces including armrests for front passengers warm up in addition to the seat and steering wheel. It's similar to what's available on an X5, X7 or 8-Series.

Harmon Kardon standard for 2024?

Having trouble confirming from the configurator and what I read online. Does anyone know if the 2024 xDrive50 comes standard with the Harmon Kardon 18 speaker system or if that's an option? I've read it's standard but see it part of the convenience package on the configurator but not as a standalone item to select.

Yes HK is standard on the iX in North America. (Unlike the X5 which has the lower tier HiFi Audio). You can upgrade to Bowers and Wilkins if you need a ton of extra bass. But in my opinion the HK audio to phenomenal!!

Option 688 Harmon Kardon is not listed on a build without Convenience. Here’s an example.

You will have to ask to ask BMW Canada for that or ask your dealer.

Just curious what is the deal you are getting in Canada and what is the Money factor there ?

Is there any reason you like BW system over HK ? Have you listened to same songs on both of them ? Do you care about seat and back rest bass ? What about speakers in the headrest -- do they bother your head and ears if you listen to them over prolong period ?

What will be your typical audio source -- Apple music streamed over wifi connection or Sirius XM or Spotify ?

HK system in iX is better than HK system of X5.

iX:
The 655-watt, 18-speaker Harman Kardon® surround sound system includes 5 tweeters, 5 midrange speakers, 2 central bass speakers and 2 subwoofers under the rear seat unit - all complemented by four built-in speakers in the rear head rests. Automatic sound adjustment based on the car’s dynamic performance level and Logic7® Surround Sound technology provide superb listening pleasure for all occupants.

X5:
Harman Kardon® surround sound system with 464-watts. This 16-speaker sound system includes tweeters, midrange speakers, and 2 bass speakers located under the front seats. This multi-channel system makes the car's cabin a colorful sound experience.
