The dealer tells me that my build will be in October, which means no B&W sound system. My question though, is does that also mean no Hans Zimmer-created sounds?

Most of what I've read seems to indicate that they only come with the B&W sound system. Is that the case or do all iX models get the cool sounds?

Nope, Iconic Sounds Electric is a standalone option. I have it on my X40 with HK sound.

I'm not sure this is true for USA

Reviewing the 2023 BMW iX Pricing Guide, for the xDrive50 USA....

4V1 - Iconic Sounds Electric is not standard equipment, and requires the optioning of the ZMV (Ultimate Package) to get this in the USA for July 2022 forward. 4V1 is not available as a standalone option, nor is it part of any other package.

This is really shitty BMW ... wonder if it can be simply coded, or if it will be controlled via an FSC enabling code??

Oh man. I really hope they will let us upgrade to the IconicSounds from the M60 on the xDrive50 orders.

I was ambivalent about the IconicSounds implementation on the standard cars. The one on the M60 is just so flipping cool though.

When my M60 finally arrives, I will be playing around with ESYS and will let you know how it is enabled, and if it can be activated with simple coding or will require an FSC code

Interesting. The dealer has updated my build to include the Ultimate package so I guess I'm good. Living in Houston I certainly don't need the radiant heat and the interior camera seems to be a bit silly if you're not a millennial that needs to document your life online, but the rest of the Ultimate package will be appreciated.

BMW USA configurator shows the iconic sound is included as part of the Convenience package for the iX50. So as usual, sales person is full of shit.

I had forgotten how much I hated these sounds being enabled until I got the iX xDrive 50 loaner car today.

It’s cool for the first 24 hours, not so much after that…
