goodbye '23 iX M60, just picked up '24 iX M60

I got tired of endless error messages on my 2023 iX M60 (2022 October production), sold it and bought a 2024 iX M60 (March production) today!

I didn't expect much change, as long as there is no error message keep coming up every week then I'll be happy. To my suprise, 2024 is a lot of small but great difference. So far:

1. iDrive crystal controler is a little bit taller, easier to move left/right without hitting top/bottom sensor.

2. Brake pedal is firmer, also less regen brake/mechanical brake tansition. I really like it.

3. Gas padle, I dont know its its located little bit more outward (towars driver) or whats going on, its very much different from 2023 I just don't know how to describe it, in a good way!!

4. Door closing (all 4 of them) sounds and feels more solid, especially front door when slamming it ignoring the soft close, it doesn't sound like glass is hitting metal if you know what I mean. Even soft closing sounds very dampened.

5. Steering wheel ( I have sensatec) I think both amido and sensatec uses sensatec leather, 2024 version is less shinny, feel much better.

6. AR can be displayed in dash, but I find it useless, I moved it back to center screen.

7. my 23 had Bridgestone, 24 I have Pirelli. I think Prelli is stiffer and noisier. I was on freeway this afternoon, it sounded like when my Bridgestone were all worn out (around 120miles).

8. Interior panels seems a lot more solid than my 23, but i think this will take time to really say so, my '23 didn't start creaking until after a month or so. But I can really feel interior is more solid when turning up on steep driveway.

9. One major difference, glass roof now has a yellow tint. Previous 23 was a little bit of blueish but now the yellow is very obvious.

10. Outside, the gold strip where rear door and quarter window meet, now is much much more flush, previously, past the rear door the gold trim would rise a little bit.

11. iDrive 8, I think it had a few more items installed. Some menu selection was in a sub menu but is now on the outer side of its section.

12. Mine still have interior camera and kick trunk open, interior camera was taken out in later '23 built, my dealer still have a lot of '23 iX M60 without the camera.

More to discover tomorrow, so far i'm really happy with the 2024.

Did you get highway assistant? That's the most meaningful change. If so, what're your thoughts?

As to the tires, the Pirellis are a more aggressive tire (performance wise). I have them on my M60 and I agree that they are loud. I actually think that they are beyond the capabilities of the M60's chassis. They may be right for something like an X5M but I think you could go one step down in terms of handling capability without noticing much, if any, difference.

I have Highway Assistant w/ my '24 iX - it's really nice not to have to reengage Driver Assistant Plus (hands free) when stop and go traffic surges briefly above 60kmph (the old limit).

Would you mind sharing the economics? How much did you sell your old one for, and what did the new one cost you?

No, mine doesn't have engine....

When I got it, I made sure it was after all that recalls with the high voltage battery. But it still had those glitch my dealer just couldn't fix.

Just find one negative about my '24 iX M60. The AR camera seems inferior than my previous '23. Lens is more blury around corner, image from the CMOS sensor seems over exposed to a point it looks wash out. It looks like its showing some kind of HDR processing but the screen to my knowledge is not HDR.

Previous '23's image is very very crips and saturation/contast is very good. Image was sharp corner to corner.

And I also found that in '23 iX, when I play music from iphone youtube it will sometimes delay up to 5~10 seconds in response (for example I hit next track/skip ads, the new track or sound is showing on iphone screen but the stereo just keep playing what was playing previously until 5-10 seconds later. I always solve this by disable/reconnect), now in '24 this situation havn't happen for 2 days already.

Yup ^o^

I figured out whats different with the "gas" pedal. It is not locate closer to driver, its actually the brake pedal that is a little bit closer to driver.
