Unfortunately no. They weren’t allowed to order the airbag parts until they had my vehicle. I imagine it’s going to be at least a week or more. Not a big deal since they gave me nearly the same vehicle.

Anyway, it might just be a procedural difference between BMW Canada and BMWNA. |

When I set up an appointment for the airbag online, they called me immediately and said “we will order the part, let’s reschedule for next week when we have it”.

I just called my service advisor as soon as the website said remedy available. I wish I could swap these blue seatbelts out in my loaner car for my black ones. It’s literally the only option my M60 does not have for ‘23.

Same. Parts were waiting when I brought in my car, thanks to the intervention of my SA, because the clueless Service Department was still waiting for yellow tape to be delivered from the Schwartzwald before scheduling..

Made my appt at United later this month for the airbag recall. Person I spoke to said they can order the part so it’s ready at the time of my service appt. Going to drop it off and grab a bite to eat while the airbag is being replaced.

Yes, I got it back in a couple days after the airbag parts arrived. Seat module programming and software upgrade to 03/2023.53. I’ve already had to reboot iDrive once for the eSIM issue. CarPlay has been fine. I’ve been out of town since the day after I got it back, so time will tell…

Definitely not something I've had to do in either the iX50 or M60, a couple of months running. eSIM appears to be (finally) pretty solid (T-Mobile Magenta Drive). So not exclusively the car generically. I would hesitate to advise an AT&T call, and you certainly know what you're doing, but like chicken soup, couldn't hurt. That would frustrate the hell out of me.

Plus I’ve gotten used to it. At least it only takes about 30 seconds and can be done while you’re driving. All I have to do is redo my head-up display and instrument cluster preferences which gets reset each time you reboot iDrive. Another 10 seconds of my time. I can live with it. |

As noted before, just because you have one thing wrong doesn't mean you don't have two. . Problem = doesn't hand out IP addresses. Cause = ? Breaking it down forensically, the problem is either software or hardware (possibly but improbably both). You have ruled out software, ergo.... But totally familiar with living with it!

Another iDrive reboot today because of no default gateway. BMW loves to blame this on the carrier, but this has absolutely nothing to do with them. If the internal wireless network does not hand out the local default gateway, IP address, or subnet mask to your client devices via DHCP, then your eSIM service will not work. Yes, this does get a little old and frustrating - especially this many times in the last 24 hours. This is actually worse than before updating to 03/2023.53.
