My vote would be the car. I have automatic unlock turned off on mine - too much lock/unlock/lock/unlock when working around the car in the garage. Since you need to put your hand in the door and lift up to open it anyway, regardless if it's locked or unlocked, small loss. But I have noticed that it takes the car some random number of seconds to recognize the phone - sometimes quite a few. So something delays recognition of the phone, that doesn't happen with the fob, whether you have it set to automatically unlock or not.

My Galaxy S22+ has been working beautifully until this morning where it says "Disconnected" in the wallet app for my 760i. This now means I need to hold the phone up to the door handle like I used to (and place the phone in the charging cradle to start the engine).
Restarting the phone, clearing cache from the wallet app, etc don't seem to work - still shows Disconnected. Anyone else seeing this? |

I see something similar with my apple watch + digital key plus (my only key) - sometimes have to touch the unlock button in the handle for the car to realize I'm there - unlocks after about 5 sec.
For the first time yesterday it unlocked fine but failed to start - didn't think a key was present. No problem on second attempt a few seconds later. ...so it might not be your phone. |

Google Play update sometimes resolves (or Wallet update if neccessary), per falconey (thanks!). Issue has been reported for multiple different cars and multiple different phones (iOS and Android), and local phone software seems to be the culprit, possibly the result of updates (which I seem to get at least weekly on my S22 Ultra).

My DK+ (on an S22 Plus) was spotty ever since it got installed about a month ago. Last week, I received an OS upgrade and the DK+ worked flawlessly for about a week, straight. I was so hopeful but then yesterday, it disconnected (mid-drive) and has not come back (I've only tried restarting my phone). I'm gonna delete the DK+ and reinstall, but I'm on the verge of giving up and just carrying my regular key until things get sorted out.

I will second this. My Google Play, Samsung Wallet, and BMW apps are all up to date and I continue to have intermittent problems with the car noticing my phone is within range. I am about 90% sure at this point that the car is "falling asleep" and not noticing that the phone is nearby rather than a problem with the phone. Every time this happens, digital key plus begins working again after I pull a door handle and wait about 15-20 seconds.
