How much will this cost?

What do you think? I don’t have an estimate yet. Waiting for the insurance company to get back to me. I was pulling out of a driveway and the guy behind (leaving the same driveway) me hit me as I was pulling into the street.

Ouch man. So sorry to see this.

It’s difficult to say from the photos but it’s likely going to be an expensive repair.

So, I had a similar situation and unfortunately had it worse though, with a full unpainted bumper replaced too (I don’t have the sport). That tail piece is about $400, the trim bezel is about 185 and on the sport model the full bottom portion of bumper can be upwards of 1k but I think sport is cheaper. Then paint if you need is about 500/panel. I’d say you’re looking worst case about 3k (do you need sensors?). If you want to be optimistic and the bottom bumper is in healthy shape maybe about 1k

Don’t forget to add the cost of time and aggravation!

It was $7k total to replace the bumper + sensors + various wiring parts. Sensors recalibrated.

Part of the plastic bumper running above the lights looks damaged. I don’t know if they can just replace a section or if they replace the entire thing.

Guessing $3-5k.

I didn’t zoom in the first time, taking a closer look it is probably in the north of 3k because the lid looks bruised the bumper if it needs to be replaced both top and bottom and paint. Each panel is at least 500 to paint plus if you do the lid they’ll need to replace the badges.

you're gonna want to use insurance. I had scrape damage to the front quarter panel and cosmetic damage to my door on my old iX after sideswiping a pole, and the total repair was around $8000. Good luck with that

I would guess around $5,000. Aside from the bumper cover and trim pieces there also appears to be damage to the bumper structure.

You are likely going to want to use insurance. In the past year we had 2 accidents in an i4 M50 and an M2 (one not our fault, one 50% our fault).

Both times we thought the damage looked to be in the $5k range, and both times were were utterly and completely floored how $$$ they were. I mean mouth to the floor shocked!!

Sorry and good luck!

So sorry to hear it. And on that beautiful storm bay metallic. Repairs these days are so expensive. I had a minor front-end accident on my last Acura, and I was floored when the estimate soared into the five-figure range.

And the left rear short range radar sensor bracket that is now likely damaged from that impact. Sensor needs to be inspected but bracket can guarantee it’s damaged

I dropped it off on Friday at the only BMW certified body shop in my area. They gave a preliminary estimate of $4k but said they would take apart the bumper on Monday and have a real estimate. I will let this group know.

The sensor is smashed and there’s a little chip that’s probably part of the sensor that fell out too.

I got the quote from the body shop. Including redoing the PPF on the bumper, it's right about $11,000 with a bit over $6k in parts and labor/tax the rest.

These repair costs are becoming a real ripoff, mafia practices …
Instead of suing big tech governments should investigate these mall practices.

Indeed. Had a minor bump a few weeks ago. Insurer's Authorised repairer advised parts costs estimate is £5k; it's booked in next week.

Separately, had my car in at a BMW dealer for a recall today and they "noticed" the bump damage and provided an estimate of £900.

Corner damages' are always expensive vs a sideswipe because of all the parts involved.
Even still someone backed into my car and put an 10" x 3" dent in the driver 1/4
I took it to the dealer because he guaranteed a perfect color match and warranty and he did it for 1325.00
I paid it out of pocket because my insurance agent worried about a couple of comprehensive claims in the last 3 years and a tow plus they had recently paid out 82k for my Trackhawk that got written off in a not at fault accident.
The other driver stopped but it wasn't his 10 year old suv that was in his girlfriend's name.
They couldn't get him to make a statement so my insurance paid me and went after her insurance.
I could easily pay the 1325.00 so I didn't want to get on the excessive claim list.
I got my start fixing and painting cars in my parents garage after I crashed my dad's car when I was 16 and taught myself how to do bodywork.
Bodywork was expensive and it paid a lot better than a typical teen job in 1977.

I'll never call my insurance for a tow truck again as it stays on your record for like 5 years.
I have AAA which is better since it doesn't wind up as a claim on my insurance.

My written off Hellcat 707 hp 2018 Trackhawk

Over 35k in damage plus hidden damage.
