I remember buying my first house 2001, young and dumb I wanted the latest flat screen tv, back then they were still expensive, TV sales guy was pushing a monster power surge protector @ $199, I said that's not something I'm interested in, I'm all set, he then said: what? you want dirty power in your new flat screen?!?

add it now! We need clean power in our new TV also add those gold tip s video cables too!

My wife never let me buy electronics ALONE again...

Aside from the clean power claims, I have to say the Monster surge protectors work as advertised in protecting your equipment. How do I know? I suffered from a massive power surge that tripped a breaker in my house. It was interesting the path the power surge took. The Monster surge protector did its job by sacrificing itself. I could hear components rattling around inside of it and burnt electronics smell. This same surge which resulted from a couple of transmission lines crossing due to a work truck colliding with a utility pole sent a power spike to two of my neighbors. They didn't fair so well. They lost thousands in electronics.

Getting a warranty claim with Monster also couldn't be easier. I called them to let them know what happened. The rep got my info and said he'd get a new surge protector sent out to me and asked if I needed to start a claim for any attached equipment that was damaged. I told him fortunately, no.

I'm glad to hear it saved you aggravation after the storm, I just think any regular ACME surge protector would've done the same

Clean power surge protectors are the same to me as scotch guard protection at the dealer, sure they work I guess but overkill IMO
