Only 40% of Seattle homes have AC.
I believe that 40% number includes all the single room AC units. I would be surprised if over 10% have whole house AC.
Correct. That's what I meant. 40% have some type of AC.

AKA ghetto pool!!!!

I did see a little kid with his mom, picking one up at Home Depot. "When you get home, you're filling it with water and jumping in?"

Where's that little girl with the funny look???

Our current temperature is 37 C which is 15 C over the average temperature for us this time of year. Needless to say we are not used to this heat but luckily we had air conditioning installed last fall.

No surprise, the weather forecasters got it wrong here. The high peaked at 99F (not 95F), and the heat index was 124F.

Oh, but it's a different kind of heat.....

I was only pointing that out to those who don't live here how few people have what I call real AC.

In Seattle it typically hits 80-85 for 1-2 weeks every summer, but otherwise the summers are purely in the 70s and very comfortable. Late Sept-end of June are generally gloomy and 40s-60s. As a result almost nobody has A/C, exception being very high end homes.

Still living under grey sky for another week. Not sure if this link works but its a little time lapse of the storm we had last night.

https://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=2232422

I tried filming from the front door.. got soaked and almost dropped my phone so I wont post that.

A neighbor had some trees down and other hoods had power outages, winds clocked at 118 kph.

Stupid high humidity before the storm too.
