I found a tutorials on the internet and was able to code using Bimmer Utility

I used an ENET cable from ebay. Here is a video with the procedure and the result. I hope it helps you

Nice! Only for iDrive 8.0, not 8.5 so I guess I'm out of luck but I know some happy owners.

Does the app only work on iphones or android also?
I wonder if we can also enable traffic light assistant using the same method, I miss that from my G20
