i8 and snow / ice

not that i intend to take it out in snowy / icey conditions, but where I live you can wake up in spring in the morning to snow when the previous night was simply chilly but dry.

what is the i8 like to drive in snow? being all wheel drive - is the power divided equally front / rear so that the car is actually driveable ( with caution and at a suitably low speed )

or does front/back power units do different amount of pulling/pushing resulting in difficult driving in snow / slippery conditions?

thankyou!.

does sport mode make the front and rear power outputs similiar at the wheels ( taking into account gentle throttle applications in poor surface conditions ) so that both front and back are driving at roughly the same torque/power to keep the car as controleld as possible?

Pretty much; we are dealing with a light car w relatively wide tires and 370bhp, not much ground clearance. On the plus side it is AWD and has great sensitivity.

There is a thread here somewhere w videos of having fun in the snow...

I drive my car all winter with Blizzak Snow Tires. I drive it in comfort mode most of the time; but if i see a hill up-ahead i switch to sports mode and place it back in comfort once i have crossed the hill. The car will automatically engage the ICE if it detects a loss of traction; but putting it in sports mode prior to losing traction avoids the few seconds delay especially if you know you will need AWD to transverse the terrain.
