How to adjust initial velocity

When I am maneuvering the i8 (putting or taking out the garage I notice that the car is too fast and I have to control it with the brake. I have to brake all time. I have another electric car (Kona) that when doing such maneuvers it stays in rest and only moves when I put the foot in the accelerator pedal. I wonder if this is a normal behavior and if there is anything I have to tune/adjust to avoid this.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I haven’t heard of this issue before.
Is the gas engine running? Idle set too high? Tailwind?

I don’t think there is any way to adjust the throttle to be less sensitive when in all electric mode. I have the same behavior when when going through the (touchless!) car wash. I basically have to ride the brake in order to go slowly enough for the blowers to dry the car.

So, this is a normal behavior...
It is odd because it is a little bit stressful to maneuver the car in narrow spots.
Anyone have the same experience?
Thank you.

I have never noticed any issue with the car moving too fast in electric power with foot off the gas. You should take it to the dealer maybe be something wrong with you car.

Hello!

Yes the "aggressive" behaviour is normal. The car is light and the electric motor is quite powerful, the torque and power comes instantly after you release the brake. This means you constantly have to control the car with the brake pedal and it feels kind of weird at first, before you'll get to used to it. This is most noticeable when maneuvering in tight spots, like parking garages or tight - narrow parking spots, making "3-point" turns or "paraller parking". Sometimes car almost "attacks" forwards when you only need to move it like 20cm / 10".

My previous car was plugin hybrid, BMW 740Le, and it was much much easier to manoeuvre as the response from the electric powerline was far more ... subtle or gentle and that car weighted like 700kg more than i8. Also the Hyundai Kona Electric weights like 1800kg while i8 is something like 1450kg, thats big difference.

So don't be scared, this all is normal.

Thank you billy.gif.
My wife has a x3 i drive and when using it I imagined that the inertia could be the issue here. It makes sense.

Surely this is adjustable. FWIW my i8 is very, very slow to begin movement when in e mode. The accelerator pedal is like a fine rheostat.
